Munich & Vienna, 23 - 28 July 2010

Last month, I had the chance to fly home from Madrid to Singapore via Munich, thanks to Singapore Airlines who had started operating flights between Munich & Singapore earlier this year. What a great opportunity for me to visit Munich AND Vienna which was just a train ride away!

Even though it was pretty much a grey sky week, I managed to solace myself with the ubiquitous bretzeln (pretzels), würste (sausages), lebkuchenherzen (gingerbread hearts) & schweinshaxen (roasted pork knuckles). Unpronounceable...but yummy!

Here're some pictures from the 2 beautiful cities. Enjoy! [Click to enlarge]

SET 1: MUNICH, GERMANY

SET 2: VIENNA, AUSTRIA

*The historic centre of Vienna is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Also, based on the results of Mercer's Quality of Living Survey 2010, Vienna ranks 1st on the list of the world's best cities to live in. It is ranked 2nd based on another similar survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).*

While I can't attest to the truth of the surveys, I can certainly attest to the excellence of the Viennese architecture, museums & coffees!
